Call Of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War: The Next-Gen Version Will Cost More [VIDEO]

Those who get the new consoles will have to pay more.

Yesterday, we already discussed the single-player synopsis of the game, so we’re jumping into the multiplayer part: „Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will feature cross-generation cross-play support, with cross-progression for all players to play together. [It] will also offer a Battle Pass system and deliver a steady stream of post-launch content, including multiplayer maps and modes, Zombies experiences, along with a robust schedule of in-game community events. [It] includes shared progression features with Warzone, adding inventory items that can be used in both titles. Plus, Warzone players will still have access to Modern Warfare content they earned previously, like Operators and weapon blueprints. More information on Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will be announced at a later date,” the press release says. We think Activision Blizzard will reveal everything else on September 9 on Twitch, because they will reveal the multiplayer that day. They weren’t this informative about Zombies: „Uncover dark Cold War experiments that unleash a new Zombie threat to take on in frightening and intense co-operative gameplay with friends. More details around the next, new chapter of Call of Duty Zombies will be revealed in the coming weeks.” Wow, thanks a lot for that.

Let’s see what versions Call Of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War will receive. The current-gen standard edition will cost 60 dollars/euro. Both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions will be backwards compatible supported on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X (and Xbox Series S?). The PS4 version can be upgraded digitally to the PlayStation 5 one, but the Xbox One version won’t offer this deal – Sony’s struck a deal with Activision Blizzard. The digital version of the current-gen edition is the same.

The next-gen version will cost ten dollars/euro more (70 instead of 50). The physical version can be used with the PlayStation 5 Standard Edition and the Xbox Series X (as the Xbox Series S might skip the Blu-ray drive). The latter will also provide the Xbox One version on disc. The Digital Cross-Gen Bundle will also cost 70 dollars/euro, but with it, you can first get the PlayStation 4/Xbox One version, and when the two next-gen consoles arrive, you also gain access to that edition. As an extra, you will also receive the Confrontation weapon pack. We already mentioned the Digital Ultimate Edition yesterday – it will cost 90 dollars/euro -, so we’ll just mention the new details: you get both the current-gen and the next-gen version of the game with it. The pre-order bonuses were also leaked (open beta early access for five days on PlayStation 4, Frank Woods plus an assault rifle blueprint for both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone).

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (whose trailer below was captured on PlayStation 5 or its devkit), developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, will launch on November 13 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC Battle.net), while the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X will version will arrive „depending on when consoles are available to consumers.”
