Turrican Anthology Vol. I & II: Factor 5’s Past For New Audiences [VIDEO]

Metroid for the Amiga users. That’s essentially what Turrican was. The series had a lot of success in the 90s.

Strictly Limited Games and Factor 5 (which exists again, yes) announced during Gamescom’s opening event that Turrican’s history will be released in two compilations on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The price tag, however, is a problem. 35 euros a pop for one anthology piece is a lot of money!

Turrican Anthology Vol. I contain Turrican (Amiga), Turrican 2 (Amiga), Super Turrican (SNES), Super Turrican Director’s Cut (SNES), and Mega Turrican Score Attack (Mega Drive). Five? More like three and a half, and the game for SEGA’s 16-bit console will be mentioned shortly again. Turrican Anthology Vol. II contains Turrican 3 (Amiga), Mega Turrican (Mega Drive), Mega Turrican Director’s Cut (Mega Drive), Super Turrican 2 (SNES), and Super Turrican 1 Score Attack (SNES). And here it is once again… even in a Director’s Cut version.

You can already pre-order them on Strictly Limited Games’ Store. Here, we find two more versions. Namely, the 100-euro Collector’s Edition, and the 200-euro Ultra Collector’s Edition. The former contains both anthologies, as well as a Collector’s box with a magnetic latch, a Turrican Documentary (on a Blu-Ray), the soundtrack, an art book, a sticker sheet, four acrylic art cards, two large reversible posters, an enamel pin, and a signed postcard. The Ultra version includes all of it, as well as a Turrican Amiga outer box, a 20 cm exclusive Turrican figure, 4 CD soundtracks, a manual, 4 Amiga coasters, an acrylic diorama, plus an Authentication Certificate,

The release date has not been announced yet. The second video is a showcase of Chris Hülsbeck’s work. This German composer was part of Factor 5, and he was responsible for Turrican’s music. If this doesn’t convince you, then the problem is in your machine.
