Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground: More Warhammer, More Strategy [VIDEO]

You can’t say the name of this game three times in a row in one breath…

Focus Home Interactive has tasked Gasket Games to develop a Warhammer game based on Age of Sigmar – Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground was announced during Gamescom’s opening night event, and it’s already in development for almost everything. It looks like a bold move at first glance.

Thankfully, the game’s Steam page provides more details: „Conquer the Mortal Realms! Become the commander of one of the extraordinary factions of Warhammer Age of Sigmar—a dark-fantasy universe where immortal knights ride heavenly stardrakes to eradicate Death across a multitude of realms. This is Storm Ground, a world of legends, heroes, hellish creatures and fearsome battles. Lead your highly-customizable force in this dynamic and spectacular skirmish turn-based strategy game packed with fast-paced warfare. Victories allow you to collect and upgrade new types of units, powerful equipment, and unlock devastating skills.

Explore all the routes in Storm Ground’s non-linear campaign. During each new playthrough, overcome new odds to find unique units and gears. Build your legendary army and defy other players in epic online duels. [This game is] the first strategy videogame adaptation of Games Workshop’s epic Age of Sigmar. […] Play solo or online in epic 1vs1 battles,” it says. Pre-order the game with a 15% discount, and you will receive three exclusive weapons.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground, without joking, is seriously in development for almost everything aside from iOS and Android, as it’s arriving in early 2021 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We wonder why Games Workshop decided to make a game out of this part of Warhammer… but will the multiplatform development harm the result, or will it still be a relatively good title?
