The Witcher 3 will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X with graphical improvements and ray tracing; free with original

Also announced for PC; CD Projekt promises visual improvements and faster loading times.

CD Projekt RED has just announced that its hit The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on next-gen consoles on a date yet to be determined, taking advantage of the extra potential of Xbox Series X and PS5 to improve graphics and performance of the cool RPG adventure. Without going into much detail, the Polish study promises visual improvements derived from the use of ray tracing, as well as faster load times.

Of course these improvements will be applied to the base game and all its additional content , including its two major expansions. This special edition of The Witcher 3 will be released on PC, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. What if you already have the game in your possession? In the vein of the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077, players will be able to upgrade the Xbox One and PS4 versions to the next generation for free.

At the moment no images or a video have been shared showing these new versions of The Witcher 3. Nor is an estimated release date mentioned, but the title could reach stores accompanying the new generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, the first of them available next November, with no specific date.

This news comes a few months after CD Projekt’s RPG celebrated its 5 anniversary with millionaire sales, and a recent adaptation also to Nintendo’s hybrid console, which was very successful as we told you in our analysis of The Witcher 3.
