Sniper Elite VR Will Launch On More VR Platforms [VIDEO]

During Facebook Connect, Rebellion and Facebook-owned Oculus announced that Sniper Elite VR will launch on Oculus Quest, Too.

Sniper Elite was first announced for PlayStation VR, but Rebellion then showcased it at E3 2019 and PAX East 2020, but the virtual reality sharpshooting looks like it can run on a standalone VR device (meaning it wouldn’t require a PC or a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5), although we have seen other games such as Onward or Phantom: Covert Ops to do so, too.

„One bullet can change the course of a war… Southern Italy, 1943. Fascist forces occupy your homeland. Using stealth, authentic weaponry, and your skilled marksmanship as an elite sniper, fight for the Italian Resistance in this exhilarating first-person shooter.

Grab your rifle, gaze down the scope and take aim, as realistic ballistics and immersive weapon interactions bring a whole new dimension to this intense sniping simulation. Take on a new explosive stand-alone campaign with 18 replayable missions and hours of thrilling gameplay. Use stealth and cunning to distract and outmanoeuvre enemy troops and vehicles across levels packed with tactical possibilities. Experience the firepower of historically accurate WW2 weaponry, with an armoury of rifles, SMGs, pistols, shotguns, grenades & explosives. Witness the devastating effect of your shot as Sniper Elite’s signature kill-cam returns, rebuilt for VR,” Rebellion’s press release says. There is no Sniper Elite without the X-Ray kill-cam.

Sniper Elite VR is being developed by Rebellion, Just Add Water, and Coatsink. There is still no release date announced yet, but the company said it is „coming to SteamVR, PlayStation VR, and Oculus Rift and Oculus Quest platforms,” even though the new Quest will knock the Rift S out altogether. However, due to the coronavirus global pandemic, we can’t complain about not revealing a release date.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
