The Poles have inspired the adult industry (again).

Piotr Nielubowicz, the chief financial officer of CD Projekt RED, said during the company’s quarterly earnings report that the pre-orders for Cyberpunk 2077 is heavily shifted towards digital, but it’s too early to predict the split between digital and physical pre-orders. „[We] expected the digital share to be farther than we had on The Witcher 3, and more than 50%” in the game’s early life, he said. In the longer term, however, the games are moving towards digital sales: „On [The] Witcher 3, it’s [the] vast majority. And on [The] Witcher 2 and 1, it’s — let’s say 99% of the revenues we generate are digital. So this is the only direction that can be expected in that near and longer-term,” he added

They declined to provide exact pre-order figures, but they confirmed that it’s visibly higher than any of the previous games. They are part of the company’s deferred revenue at the moment: „All the revenues we generate on Cyberpunk are not booked directly into our profit and loss account — all of them are presented in our balance sheet as deferred revenues, and we will show them upon release of the game,” the CFO said. In the previous fiscal quarter, CD Projekt RED recorded a record ~20.7 million USD increase of deferred revenues.

The Polish studio announced on Twitter how you can transfer your save on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to the new consoles. You can only do so within the same console family (PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5, Xbox One > Xbox Series). Xbox One users can access the save from the cloud on the Xbox Series, they only have to connect both consoles to the same network and use the system network transfer option. The PlayStation 4 users have three options. One is to access the save from the cloud via PlayStation Plus on PlayStation 5. The second is to transfer the data via a LAN cable or WiFi. The third one is to use a compatible storage device (like a pen drive) to copy and transfer the data to your PlayStation 5.

Cyberpunk 2077 has inspired Serious Sam modders. A new one, called Blade Runner: Cells Interlinked 2021, is a total conversion mod, made by Syndroid. In it, we control a prototype Nexus-8 replicant named Trixie, who has to fight across a cyberpunk Los Angeles while the cops are in a chase. It’s built on Serious Sam Fusion (mainly used for custom maps, skins, new weapons and so on for Serious Sam 3 and the HD versions of the first two games). It’s set before Blade Runner: Blackout 2022, which is an animated film that was meant to promote Blade Runner 2049, thus somewhat tying the mod’s plot into the story. You can get the mod from the Steam Workshop. It’s not completed yet: VR support and improved animations are to be added.

„I guess mimicking is the highest form of praise?”, Rafał Jaki, business development director at CD Projekt Red, tweeted. Cyberpunk 2077 got a porn parody (called Cyberpunk 2077 XXX Parody), and it’s the second time the studio got such an adaptation, Jaki noted. The first one was for The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, with the tagline The Dildo of Destiny has two ends.

Cyberpunk 2077 is launching on December 10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC. The PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series – until they get the next-gen patch – will run the PS4/X1 versions.
