Is Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake In Development Hell?

Ubisoft delayed the Persian prince’s return yet again, but now, the situation might be a bit worse than we first thought.

The French publisher has already delayed Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake once. The game was first set to arrive on January 21, but – as we discussed it before – it got pushed back to March 18. The two-month delay doesn’t seem too bad, as we have seen several games pushed back by such periods, and in a few cases, the delay did indeed help for the game to be better.

However, Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai popped up on Twitter with another announcement. Let’s see what they had to say: „Hello Prince of Persia fans! Since announcing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake in September, we saw an outpouring of feedback from you on this beloved franchise. It is your passion and support that is driving our development teams to make the best game possible. With that said, we have made the decision to shift the release for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date.

This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original. We understand the update might come as a surprise and we will continue to keep you posted on the progress of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. In the meantime, we want to thank you for your ongoing support,” Ubisoft wrote.

In case you haven’t noticed, they did not reveal a new release date! Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time Remake got delayed indefinitely, which might not be a good omen (the same applies to Dying Light 2, too). The game is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, Uplay).

So… when are they announcing a next-gen version?
