Outriders: It Will Join Xbox Game Pass From Day One! [VIDEO]

Square Enix and People Can Fly announced a player-friendly move, although not everyone is going to benefit from this announcement (and for a good reason: this is Microsoft‘s strategy).

Yesterday, we were already discussing hints at the cooperative looter-shooter preparing to join Microsoft’s subscription service, and we were contemplating if it would outright launch into Xbox Game Pass from its first day. And we were right: Microsoft announced that Outriders will join the service on April 1, the launch, for most of the subscribers.

We wrote most of the subscribers because it’s not going to be available everywhere. No, we don’t mean geoblocking (which is bad most of the time). Instead, it’s not going to be on all the platforms, as Outriders was confirmed to be part of Xbox Game Pass on consoles (Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S) and Android (cloud streaming). No PC: Square Enix is likely considering this platform a second thought (especially seeing how they put Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM into a FREE game).

The game, developed by People Can Fly, is going to be a third-person shooter with deep RPG systems. It’s set in a distant future, where our task will be to colonize a planet, which is meant to be the new home for humanity. However, a mysterious storm called the Anomaly burnt out all the technology, plus it hyper-evolved the wildlife into ferocious monsters. This event breaks down down colonization efforts into a war of attrition for humanity’s last remaining resources.

Outriders will launch on April 1 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. You can also play it via Xbox Game Pass on Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Android (with the help of the cloud).
