MOVIE NEWS – According to the latest DEADLY COMBAT rumour, Charlie Hunnam may need to be fitted for some $500 worth of sunglasses.
That’s right, fighters, the Mortal Combat rumour mill is spitting smoke today, with rumours that Hunnam is up for the role of Johnny Cage in New Line’s Mortal Combat sequel. Before we go any further, be sure to take this news with a Goro-sized grain of salt. The talk of Hunnam playing the wise-cracking fighter comes from Daniel Richtman, an industry insider who claims to have a line on this planned casting.
Hunnam joins Ryan Reynolds, Chris Pratt and The Miz as the people proposed for the role. I have my doubts about this rumour, although Richtman may know something I don’t. After all, Hunnam is a big name and can throw hands. He has a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has trained with Rigan Machado. I could see him making members of the Shang-Tsung camp eat dirt. That said, it’s still early days for Mortal Combat 2, and I won’t believe anything until I see something more official.
Do you think Hunnam would be a good choice for the New Line Mortal Combat Universe? Does he have what it takes to fill out Johnny Cage’s tight trousers and liners? Sound off in the comments section below and tell us what you think.
