Sony Interactive Entertainment will air a new broadcast shortly, and it’s about time for it to happen, especially how the company has once again skipped E3 altogether, even though the 2021 iteration of it has gone completely digital.
Sony announced on the PlayStation Blog that the next broadcast of State of Play is going to indeed happen on July 8, proving recent rumours right. However, the European broadcasting time is somewhat unfortunate, as the 2 PM Pacific/5 PM Eastern air date means it’s going to start at 11 PM in most of Europe. You can find the broadcast on both YouTube, and Twitch.
According to Sony Interactive Entertainment, the thirty-minute State of Play’s more than a quarter will focus on the timed PlayStation 5-exclusive Deathloop, as it will get nine minutes of the half-hour. There will also be updates on „some exciting indie and third-party titles,” which wouldn’t necessarily rule out something like Final Fantasy XVI by Square Enix.
However, Sony has strictly added that there will be no updates on God of War: Ragnarok (or whatever the sequel to 2018’s PlayStation 4-exclusive will be called), Horizon Forbidden West, or the PlayStation VR 2. Regarding these upcoming things, Sony will have more updates throughout the summer. (Yet, this list skipped Gran Turismo 7, but we doubt the company will showcase that.)
Let’s get back to the rumours: they claimed that the acquisition of the kinds of remasters and remakes (Bluepoint Games, who recently released Demon’s Souls’ PlayStation 5 remake with the help of the no-longer-existing Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Studio) will also be confirmed throughout the broadcast. Too bad Sony has accidentally already revealed this move.
We’re going to learn everything in a short period, as July 8 is not far away.
