If you had any doubts about Dirt 5, they may be dispelled as Codemasters has announced a free update for its speed game that will be available from 20 July. They promise it’s the biggest update to date and we’ll tell you all about it.

There will be several content packs, such as the Parts Unknown Playgrounds Pack, which adds more items to use in the custom track creator, with sci-fi elements. Exclusive weekly challenges and creator rewards will also be added to incentivise players to use the creator more. In addition, there will be flagship designs with five different cars, two new tracks set in Brazil and five trophies.

The new Dirt 5 content seems to follow that “more and better” maxim with new cars, tracks and ways to play. The list of Career Mode options has been expanded with 27 new events and four great cars to take to the tracks: the Bentley Continental GT Ice Racer, Armada Rock Racer, Rezvani Tank and Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Baja Concept. It will also include more designs, sponsors and extra customisation items. This content will be for Amplified/Year One Edition players.

In the case of PS5 in particular, the DualSense capabilities have been improved, taking advantage of its haptic capabilities and adaptive triggers. Thus, with these improvements, virtual drivers will feel the traction and its changes depending on the surface, the noise of gear changes or brake resistance.
