Diablo 2 Resurrected – Hell Has Risen, but The Servers Died

Diablo 2 Resurrected launched today, and after being able to play for about two hours, the game sadly kicked me out, and I was not the only one who could not log back to the game.

So today was the day when the armies Hell had risen, and computers all over the world logged onto the Battle.Net to enjoy the remastered version of Diablo 2. Our review of it should be out in a couple of days, but we did run into a bit of an issue while playing the game. Playing offline is excellent, and all, but running around Sanctuary with my friends is way more fun, more monsters and loot, plus more fun.

So 5 pm rolled around here in the UK, and the game unlocked, played for an hour or two with a newly made online character (Necromancer – cause me summoning Skeletons to do my lazy work feels epic). As I was playing the game, I suddenly kicked out, and I thought my wifi was acting up, or my provider had issues.

Turns out sadly that it was not either of them, but the servers for Diablo 2 Resurrected simply just died, and there were issues. Now you could still play offline, but you cannot bring your offline character to the online version, so I simply had to wait, much like most people.

Here are some fun moments from that period :

Blizzard has apologized for the issues and is working on the matter. The servers seem to be back, but who knows if they will go offline again during such a busy launch.

Diablo 2 Resurrected is out now for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch
