Amazon Games Picks Up A New IP By Horizon, Fable, And Battlefield Devs

Amazon Games might start to take the gaming industry seriously.

Amazon (and let’s not shy away from saying Google, too) have all the money but not the know-how to achieve results in the gaming industry. We’ve started to notice the changes regarding their attitude (for instance, an ex-Ubisoft boss is now helming the Montreal studio). However, we still have to give them time to see Jeff Bezos’ company get off the ground in this industry.

Amazon Games announced that they will publish a new IP from a small, British indie studio, called Glowmade. It’s a team with only twenty-five employees, but they have solid CVs: they previously worked on Horizon Zero Dawn, LittleBigPlanet, Fable, and Battlefield. (The team is also known for RustHeart, an EA Originals title.)

We don’t know much of Glowmade’s new project yet. It’s described as a “creative online co-op experience.” “Amazon Games is dedicated to finding and publishing best-in-class games, whether they’re from AAA studios or passionate indie teams. Glowmade is a team of seasoned developers with the right creativity and experience to make games players will love. We are excited about the opportunity to work closely with this talented studio to bring our players the very best gaming experiences,” Amazon Games’ vice president Christoph Hartmann said.

“The Glowmade team has been working incredibly hard on our exciting new IP, and Amazon Games has been a great partner. The Amazon Games team’s commitment to helping us deliver on our creative vision has been amazing. We can’t wait to show the world what we’re up to,” Jonny Hopper, the head of Glowmade, added.

This game is likely in an early stage of development. Therefore, we might not hear more about it for the next year or two…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
