Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition Highlight Performance Issues [VIDEO]

The new Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition frame rate tests have been leaked online, detailing how the three remasters run on PlayStation 5

It’s a shame that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition seems to be malfunctioning on PlayStation 5, as these are the only versions of the game available for purchase on Sony’s consoles. The announcement of Grand Theft Auto Trilogy: The Definitive Edition, like GTA V: Enhanced Edition, was charged with equal parts excitement and controversy. The teaser trailer for the collection, which includes GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas, compared the classic games and these new versions. Much of the community and media are delighted with Rockstar Games’ work. However, a good number of fans believe that it doesn’t live up to expectations.

The three videos, which TeMkA169 has shared on YouTube, highlight how all three games have performance issues on PlayStation 5, failing to maintain a consistent 60 FPS frame rate in many different scenarios. Grand Theft Auto III seems to have the worst performance of the three, but the other two games also have problems.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition features a wide range of modern control updates, including improvements to aiming and targeting, updated radio station wheels and weapons, updated minimaps with improved navigation allowing players to set waypoints to destinations, updated achievements, trophies and more. The Nintendo Switch version also features Switch-specific controls that include flip focus and touchscreen camera zoom, panning, and menu selections. In contrast, the PC version includes support for NVIDIA DLSS and additional new achievements through the Rockstar Games Social Club.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be released digitally on 11 November and in physical form on 7 December for PlayStation 5, Xbox X Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It will be priced at €69.99.
