Batgirl: Michael Keaton in bat suit again in the filming photos

MOVIE NEWS – Photos from the set of HBO Max’s Batgirl show Michael Keaton returning as Batman in the classic bat suit.

Michael Keaton’s Batman returns on the set of Batgirl. Principal photography is underway on the upcoming HBO Max movie starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon. It’s now known that Keaton will first return as the Dark Knight in the upcoming superhero movie The Flash, and it’s also been reported that he’ll be appearing in Batgirl. Pictures from the shoot, which were shared on social media, offer the first glimpse of Keaton’s return in a bat suit.

The photos leave something to be desired in terms of image quality, but there’s certainly enough to recognize Keaton’s Batman, and for any fans eagerly awaiting the character’s return, there’s plenty to get excited about. There’s no word on when we’ll get an official image of Keaton’s Batman, but Grace recently shared a picture of herself in her Batgirl costume from the film, ready to fight crime on the streets of Gotham. Warner Bros. may be waiting for Keaton to first appear in The Flash before fans get to see him up close and personal in a bat suit.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (Bad Boys for Life) will direct Batgirl from a script by Christina Hodson (The Flash). Alongside Leslie Grace as Barbara, J.K. Simmons returns as Jim Gordon, the girl’s father, while Brendan Fraser will play the villainous Firebird. Other cast members include Ivory Aquino, Jacob Scipio, Rebecca Front and Corey Johnson.

When it was revealed that Micheal Keaton would reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in The Flash’s Batman and Batman Returns, the news caused a huge reaction among fans. Shortly afterwards, it was reported that Keaton is set to remain in the DCEU, making his appearance more than just a cameo. His subsequent appearance in Batgirl further strengthens the rumours that he will be a main character in the DCEU, although it’s also worth noting that he is not signed on to any other projects as of yet.

Although it took Keaton some time to understand how the multiverse works, he is happy to return as Batman. He has previously spoken about the reasons behind his return, and the actor admitted that the idea of reprising the role had always been on his mind. As Keaton was convinced that he could do a Batman comeback, he didn’t have to think too long when the offer to play Batman again came along.

Frankly, in the back of my head, I always thought, ‘I bet I could go back and nail that motherf—er.’ And so I thought, ‘Well, now that they’re asking me, let me see if I can pull that off,’ Keaton told The Hollywood Reporter in 2021.
