Jumping, fighting and lots of neon make up the pixel-art aesthetic of ANNO: Mutationem, coming to PS4, PS5 and PC.
ANNO: Mutationem, which we’ve been following since its unveiling at the State of Play in August 2020, has come at a great time, with fans of futuristic metropolises bathed in neon at night, and now, thanks to the massive update and next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077, they’re obviously more eager to hear the news…
ANNO: Mutationem is out on 17 March for PS4, PS5 and PC
ANNO: Mutationem takes us to the grim city of Noctis, where all the essence of classics like Ghost in the Shell is present in an urban landscape packed to the brim with detail. Our protagonist, Ann, is searching for her lost brother, and to do so, we will traverse a world that mixes 2D and 3D, with elements of combat, platforming and RPG.
2D-3D action with RPG elements
According to the creators, our protagonist is a lone wolf ready for battle, highly trained to carry out her personal mission “in a metropolis full of sinister mega-corporations, mysterious fringe groups and creatures more bizarre than words can express.”
ANNO: Mutationem will be released on 17 March 2022 for PC, PS4 and PS5, and PlayStation Blog has confirmed the standard and deluxe versions of the game, which will include add-ons such as a soundtrack and artbook. ThinkingStars studio has also included a free-to-play demo on Steam, available now if you can’t wait to try it out.
