Cyberpunk 2077: Significant Improvements Across All Platforms On 1.5 [VIDEO]

For the Cyberpunk 2077, the PC will be silently abandoned, Windows 7 and DirectX 11 will no longer be officially supported.

In the two comparison videos below, ElAnalistaDeBits pitted the four Xbox consoles (Xbox One [S], Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X) against each other, as well as the three PlayStation platforms (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5). Yesterday, we highlighted how, for example, in addition to improved shadows and lighting on the PS5/XSX duo, there’s ray tracing, enhanced textures, viewing distance and anisotropic filtering on the new consoles. Overall, performance has improved on all platforms, but it’s still lacklustre on the base PlayStation 4 (PlayStation 4 Slim) and Xbox One (Xbox One S). In outline, prepare for this kind of resolution and performance:

  • Xbox One: dynamic (scalable resolution!) 900p, 30 FPS (usually 720p)
  • Xbox One X: dynamic 1440p, 30 FPS (usually 1440p)
  • Xbox Series S: dynamic 1440p, 30 FPS (usually 1440p)
  • Xbox Series X: Performance mode: dynamic 2160p (4K), 60 FPS (usually 1440p); Ray-Tracing mode: dynamic 2160p, 30 FPS (usually 1440p)
  • PlayStation 4: dynamic 1080p, 30 FPS (usually 720p)
  • PlayStation 4 Pro: dynamic 1224p, 30 FPS (usually 1080p)
  • PlayStation 5: Performance mode: dynamic 2160p, 60 FPS (usually 1440p); Ray-Tracing mode: dynamic 2160p, 30 FPS (usually 1440p)

On PC, however, bugs have been introduced by the significant (some over fifty gigabytes) 1.5 update, which by the way, saw the Poles drop support for Windows 7/DX11. CD Projekt RED is aware of the problems and has proposed a temporary fix. The PlayStation 4 disc version won’t start after installing the patch, and on PC, there’s a good chance that problems may be caused by sound drivers (A-Volute, Nahimic, or Sonic Studio). In the meantime, the Poles recommend disabling them so Cyberpunk 2077 will work.

CD Projekt RED also pointed out that they might look into a PlayStation 4 > PlayStation 5 trophy upgrade (but they don’t promise anything), maybe a frame rate limit increase on Xbox Series S. Still, they’re cautious, not promising much. They are trying to take requests into account…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
