The Official Trailer For Puss In Boots: The Last Wish Will Arrive Soon

MOVIE NEWS – After a decade of waiting, The Puss in Boots will be back in action this autumn, and Dreamworks has already teased the premiere of the first trailer.

It’s been a decade since Antonio Banderas‘ Puss in Boots last hit the big screen, but fans of the mysterious catcatcher will finally get a new film this year, with the trailer arriving next week. DreamWorks Animation has shared a quick, fun teaser announcing that the first trailer for Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will be released on Tuesday, 15 March.

The character of Puss in Boots was first seen as a would-be adversary in Shrek 2 nearly two decades ago, but it soon became clear that the hat-wearing, footwear-loving cat was not as intimidating as he liked to make himself out to be. In a sword duel, however, he’s plenty of match. After appearing in both of Shrek’s subsequent sequels, several short films and his own standalone film in 2011, the sequel has been stuck in development hell for years, but on 23 September 2022, he finally steps out of the shadows.

“Cats have 9 lives, right? What’s the worst that could happen?”

In Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Banderas once again plays the title character cat, and this time we might not be so happy to see him put himself in danger with only one of his nine lives left. His underdog status will form the basis of the film, in which Puss in Boots takes up the gauntlet to find ‘The Last Wish’, which he believes will help him restore his life and become the carefree swordsman he is best known as.

Dreamworks Animation was one of the first studios to adopt an alternative release strategy when it released Trolls’ world tour as a VOD title with a limited theatrical release in April 2020. This sparked much controversy at the time, with AMC Theaters announcing that it would no longer distribute the studio’s films. However, the company soon after agreed on a new contract with Universal. The studio will release The Bad Guys in April, but Puss in Boots: The Last Wish will likely be their first big box office hit since the outbreak began.
