The Last Of Us: We Can See Sam And Henry [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The Last of Us TV series has been slow to get off the ground, but even the Sony-owned IP couldn’t escape the leaks.

It’s been known for a while that HBO is adapting The Last of Us, so Naughty Dog’s IP is also trying to move beyond the video game genre (which will be one of Sony’s strategic shifts: they’re looking to expand in the entertainment genre with cross-entertainment thinking). Still, we’ll have to wait until we can watch it via the HBO Max service (since it’s already available in several countries around the world, there’s a good chance we’ll be able to watch it via that).

The NaughtyDogInfo Twitter account has showcased Bella Ramsey as Ellie in a winter outfit, which means that HBO is trying to stay true to Naughty Dog’s game. Meanwhile, Sam, Henry, and Joel (played by Pedro Pascal) try to cover themselves from the cooler weather. There’s also a shorter video of the four crossing a road before taking shelter in a nearby building. This footage could have been shot simultaneously (on the same set), as the quartet is also in winter clothing here.

It’s a significant change from what we have seen of The Last of Us TV series so far: we’ve only seen Ellie and Joel showing their backs. Pascal has previously said that he had a hallowing time filming The Last of Us and joked about whether he would survive the whole thing. He added that he doesn’t know what Joel’s fate will be, but he’s having fun on set, so it’s not an uphill task for him.

There’s currently no release date for HBO’s adaptation of The Last of Us, but the network has previously talked about arriving sometime in 2023. Meanwhile, it wouldn’t surprise us if Sony timed a standalone game made from the Factions mode left out of The Last of Us Part II to coincide, which could also serve as part of the company’s expansion into live service.
