“My Brain Short-Circuited” – Says The Walking Dead Star After Filming Final Scene [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The Walking Dead will end later this year, and the final filming of the flagship series has recently finished.

Many have come and gone over the twelve years of The Walking Dead, but there has always been one person who has been with the series from the beginning to the bitter end: Norman Reedus. Alongside Melissa McBride, Reedus is the only original cast member to have survived all 11 seasons, so it’s no surprise that the actor was tasked with giving a heartfelt speech to the cast after filming the final scene of the hit horror series.

“This is so surreal,” Reedus began in the clip shared by TMZ. “Somebody taught me a quote recently, and it’s, ‘Is the juice worth the squeeze?'”

“The Walking Dead juice has always been worth the squeeze, as perverted as it sounds. It’s truly been an honor.”

While Reedus was speaking, McBride can be seen hugging director Greg Nicotero, who, in his own words, said how blessed he felt to have been a part of the production. While it’s clearly an emotional time for those who have been part of The Walking Dead storyline for so long, we shouldn’t forget that there is a spin-off series in the works that will also feature Reedus and McBride as Daryl and Carol, so it won’t be long before we see the pair back in the zombie-infested world.

Just a few days ago, Reedus was seen in a video with Nicotero when it was announced that the series had ended. Looking emotional and overwhelmed, Nicotero wrote in his Instagram post: “Here we are, the last day. 12 years. You remember we were babies when we started this show, with short hair?. It’s hard, but 12 hours from now the world’s going to be a different place.” Reedus added:

“Thank you for everything, it’s been a real joy. I think my brain is short circuiting now, I can’t even get my head around it.”

For those who still can’t get enough of The Walking Dead, fear not, as there’s plenty more to come from Robert Kirkman’s universe, including Tales of the Walking Dead this summer, which will take individual stories set in and around the franchise, with some familiar faces returning in the process.

It was recently announced that Samantha Morton would return to reprise her role as Alpha in an episode of the new series. Those who have stuck with the flagship series need no reminding that Alpha was the leader of the Whisperers, a group that went up against Daryl and the rest of the survivor group, who Negan eventually killed in season 10. His return in Tales of the Walking Dead is an excellent example of the expanding stories that will be told in the series.

In addition, we know that at least two other spin-offs are coming soon, with the Carol and Daryl series and the Isle of The Dead series starring Negan and Maggie. However, the biggest question surrounding the following stages of The Walking Dead still revolves around whether we will ever see the Rick Grimes movie or movies that have been promised for so long. For now, there is still no guarantee that it will ever happen.
