Are Days Gone’s Devs Working On A Live Service Game?

With its new logo, Bend Studio has revealed more about its next project.

Bend Studio has summarised its 29 years to date on the PlayStation Blog. However, we’ll make it even shorter: back when it was still called Eidetic, for example, they created Bubsy 3D, and after the Syphon Filter series, they were also involved with Resistance and Uncharted on handheld Sony platforms before making 2019’s Days Gone for PlayStation 4. However, the studio has a new logo (you can see it below). After Sony treated Days Gone as a failure despite millions of sales, many people from higher-up have left (including the game’s director Jeff Ross).

“Our new Bend Studio logo represents an abstract and modern interpretation of the studio’s history, location, and lifestyle. Located at the base of the beautiful Cascade Mountains in Central Oregon, Bend provides us with a unique lifestyle where we can work in tech but live life analogue. After a day in the office, we like to plug into adventure and use our extra life to shred the slopes at Mt. Bachelor, drag a line in the Deschutes River, or take a long hike in the wild,” the studio wrote, explaining how they differentiate themselves from other West Coast PlayStation studios (such as Santa Monica, developing God of War: Ragnarok at the moment)

Bend Studio’s community manager Kevin McAllister also shared details about their upcoming game: “The new Bend Studio logo is just the beginning of Bend Studio’s future. As part of the PlayStation Studios family, we promise to continue bringing you quality experiences that aim to leave an everlasting impact on you. Today, we are excited to share just a snippet of news on our current project. We are currently working on a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds upon the open-world systems of Days Gone but brings you a whole new world that we are extremely excited to craft for you. We cannot wait to reveal it to you when the time is right.” IT tells us that it’s not a traditional story-driven adventure but rather one of the live service projects that should be released by 2025.

The studio has several job vacancies, including positions that can be done remotely.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
