The End Of The World Atmosphere Mixed With Personal Problems in the Trailer For Ordinary Failures [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The fate of three women, a teenager, a young mother and a woman in her sixties in the shadow of a mysterious natural disaster. They struggle with their daily struggles while the world literally falls apart around them. How long does the appearance of normality, the small challenges of life, matter when the end of humanity is upon us? – asks the question of Grosan Cristina‘s second feature film, Everyday Failures.

The world premiere of the Hungarian-Romanian director’s sci-fi-filled, dramatic work, in the opinion of critics, deeply impressive and thought-provoking, was held on Monday in the prestigious competition program of the Venice International Film Festival, in the Giornate degli Autori section. You don’t have to wait long for the domestic presentation either, which will take place on October 27, 2022. The trailer debuting today already gives an insight into this film with a special look and feel, which the makers started developing almost four years ago and shockingly, what I saw in it are more current and real today than ever.

“It was a completely different world when we started working on Ordinary Failures with screenwriter Klára Vlasáková. The pandemic and the war going on in our neighbourhood have changed a lot of things. The situations presented in the film are beginning to remind us of our current lives when the authorities are involved in contradictions, and the chaos around us is increasingly gnawing away,” says the director of Ordinary Failures, Cristina Grosan. He added that when they were invited to the Venice Film Festival, during the selection, they highlighted the story’s strong female protagonists who rebel against failures and the film’s general conclusion. Above all, Everyday Failures encourages us to persevere and make alliances with our fellow humans.

The main roles of the film are Nora Klimešová, Beáta Kaňoková, Taťjana Medvecká and Vica Kerekes. In the Czech-Hungarian-Slovak-Italian co-production, the Czech Film Fund, Eurimage, the National Film Institute, the Italian Ministry of Culture, Czech Television, ARTE, the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Prague Film Fund, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund , the Pilsen Region, and the Hungarian producer of Ordinary Failures, produced with the support of the Film Fund, was Laokoon Filmgroup. Produced by Judit Stalter, Gábor Sipos and Gábor Rajna. The domestic distributor is Vertigo Media.

For the first time after Venice, Everyday Failures will be shown in Hungary at CineFest in Miskolc, as the closing production of the festival. Cristina Grosan, Vica Kerekes, cinematographer Márk Győri, Zoltán Benyó, the film’s VFX expert, and Marek Novák, among the producers, will participate in the ceremonial screening on September 17.
