A fresh live-action trailer for God of War: Ragnarok has been released. In the hilarious sketch, Ben Stiller, LeBron James and John Travolta take on their inner Kratos to better communicate with their child. Just over a week before the game’s nine realms are unlocked.

Anticipation for God of War: Ragnarok is reaching almost unhealthy levels, and each new trailer, screenshot and revealed detail only adds to the hype.

The trailer begins with Ben Stiller congratulating John Travolta on his contribution to the controversy, and he lingers over footage of stuffed animals. At the same time, the blissful melody of Chopin’s Nocturne in E-flat Major plays in the background. Stiller is later revealed to be in full Kratos costume, his face and body paint mimicking the Spartan’s iconic tattoos. He claims that “the God of War dynamic plays out in every parent-child relationship”. In doing so, he presents the event as a kind of family therapy through the lens of Kratos. Thus, each celebrity is joined by one of their children. Stiller’s son is understandably frustrated when his father claims he only felt close to him when he picked up the Leviathan axe.

LeBron James then opens up and describes how he felt – like an arrow through the heart – when his son said he would “rather play against me than with me”.

John Travolta then feels like he missed out on all the good stuff. Stiller asks him about the time he wore his Kratos costume to the farmers’ market. Travolta proudly proclaims that people pointed at him and called him a “really great dad”. But according to his daughter, they pointed at him more in dismay. The comments below the video agreed that a second part was needed, with all three dressed as Kratos.
