Henry Cavill Could Be Starring In A New Series Based On A Legendary Game Franchise!

MOVIE NEWS – Henry Cavill is reportedly in talks to star in and produce a Warhammer 40K series for Amazon.

It’s been an eventful time for the unofficial ambassador of gaming. In October, Henry Cavill announced his return as Superman, and in November, we learned that he was leaving his role as Geralt in The Witcher. Then it was revealed that he wouldn’t be playing Superman after all. The next film will be a reboot focusing on a younger character version.

All this left Cavill somewhat perplexed. Will he have time to finish painting his army of Adeptus Custodes? Well, maybe not. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cavill may have found another dream role in a series based on Warhammer 40,000.

Rahul Kohli will undoubtedly be happy about that. The actor and gamer, who has also starred in iZombie and Supergirl, tweeted shortly before the news broke, “Hey Henry, f*ck it, let’s make a Warhammer movie/limited series.”

The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Cavill “is attached to star and executive produce” noting that the series is being “set up” by Amazon. “Amazon is in final talks for the rights to the game, produced by Games Workshop, after months of negotiations and fending off rival companies that also sought the rights.”

Of course, any deal could still fall through. Plenty of big-name TV series announcements never materialise. Back in 2019, an adaptation of the Warhammer 40,000 novels starring Inquisitor Eisenhorn was announced. Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light Productions was at the helm. We haven’t heard anything about it for a couple of years but assuming it’s still in the works, it’s safe to think Cavill would be cast in a fitting role. If he wasn’t directly tasked with bringing Roboute Guilliman or Constantin Valdor to life…
