MOVIE NEWS – Award-winning actor Colin Farrell says what we saw in The Batman movie is just “the tip of the iceberg”

 

Colin Farrell, star of The Ghosts of the Island, which premieres in Hungary on January 26, remains excited about HBO Max’s The Penguin spin-off series. The actor confessed that he didn’t know about the series while filming The Batman, but he definitely wanted to get to know the character better during filming.

Farrell spoke to Variety at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala, where he was asked if he knew that The Batman spin-off series was in the works. He quickly replied, “God, no”. The Penguin actor continued, “The only thing I had an idea about was that I didn’t explore the character nearly as much as I would have liked.

“Because there was all this extraordinary work that [makeup artists] Mike Marino and Mike Fontaine and their team did, and I just thought it was the tip of the iceberg – pardon the pun – that we could do the six or seven scenes that we did in the film. I was grateful for them, but I wanted more.”

Farrell ráadásul elmondta, hogy A pingvin forgatása februárban kezdődik. Az HBO Max sorozatának még nincs premierdátuma, bár a Palm Springs-i színésznő, Cristin Milioti főszerepet fog játszani A Batman spin-offjában. A hírek szerint ő fogja alakítani Sofia Falconét, Carmine lányát.

Ha már Carmine Falcone (akit a filmben John Turturro alakít), Farrell korábban elárulta, hogy A Pingvin azzal nyit, hogy végigsétál Falcone elárasztott irodáján. A sorozat nagyjából egy héttel A Batman eseményei után játszódik.

Farrell egyébként A Batman 2.-ben is játszik. Bár azt nem tudni, hogy Matt Reeves rendező egyáltalán befejezte-e már a tervezett film forgatókönyvének megírását.
