Dave Bautista Says He Would Work With Director Denis Villeneuve Again For Free!

MOVIE NEWS – Actor Dave Bautista, who has now worked with Villeneuve in three different films, could only praise the director, stating that he would like to work with him again.

Dave Bautista is an actor who has earned the respect of millions of fans worldwide for his dedicated work in several acclaimed films, and the list keeps growing. He is as likeable as he is hardworking and also likes to thank others when he gives them the credit they deserve. Bautista can only express absolute, unabashed admiration for director Denis Villeneuve and would work with him again in a heartbeat.

In an interview with GQ, Bautista, who has worked with Villeneuve on Blade Runner 2049 (2017) and Dune (2021), as well as the upcoming sequel Dune: Part Two (2023), talked about how the director helped him resolutely go beyond his perceived limits and realize his true potential as a serious and versatile actor.

“If I could be a number one [on the callsheet] with Denis, I would do it for f*****g free…I think that’s how I could find out how good I could be. He brings out the best in me. He sees me in a different light, sees the performer that I want to be. That might be how I solve the puzzle..”

As Villeneuve continues to push the boundaries of modern sci-fi cinema and create immersive cinematic masterpieces destined for the big screen, it’s no wonder Bautista would forgo a paycheck to work under him again. The actor recently spoke about his desire to respectfully end the story of Drax, the character he played in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. He would then take on more dramatic roles that would allow him to achieve more as an actor. Instead of going in the kitschy action direction of The Rock, he would instead focus entirely on more intimate roles.

He craves movies that put most of the weight on the shoulders of the actors instead of high-end CGI and action scenes. With his current performance, especially his recent roles in Knock at the Cabin (2023) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022), and his stellar reputation in Hollywood, it’s safe to say that Bautista likely has a long road ahead of him.
