Assassin’s Creed: Four Unannounced AC Projects Leaked!

Details of four currently unannounced Assassin’s Creed projects have emerged, each offering a dramatically different experience.

According to a recent report, details of four yet-to-be-announced Assassin’s Creed projects have been leaked. Ubisoft is currently developing several major AC titles that have already been announced. The publisher is looking to return to annual releases in the franchise. However, these projects could be just the beginning of Ubisoft’s plans. Indeed, the leaked games suggest they will offer a much more varied experience as part of the franchise.

In September 2022, Ubisoft announced that four new Assassin’s Creed games were in development; Assassin’s Creed Mirage is tentatively scheduled for release in 2023 and could be seen as a shorter, smaller return for the franchise.

The other projects are known as Codename Red, Codename Hexe and Codename Jade. They are set in feudal Japan, the German-Roman Empire and ancient China respectively. The first two games make up Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Infinity efforts. Jade is a mobile game.

A new report from Insider Gaming claims that Ubisoft studios are preparing a new series of releases for the next wave of AC. Three of these will be “full-fledged” Assassin’s Creed releases. Those three projects are Ubisoft Chengdu’s Project Raid, a 4-player co-operative PvE game; Ubisoft Sofia’s Project Nebula, set in India, the Aztec Empire and the Mediterranean; and Ubisoft Annecy’s Project Echoes, a multiplayer game based on Ubisoft Scalar cloud technology.

The fourth project, leaked from Insider Gaming’s report, is actually a sequel to another yet-to-be-announced Assassin’s Creed game.

Project Nexus is an AC VR game that is reportedly scheduled to be announced at this year’s E3. The fourth game is said to be Project Nexus 2, another VR project.

This brings the total number of known projects to ten. There’s Mirage, Red, Hexe and Jade, which Ubisoft announced last December. Then there’s the multiplayer AC game Invictus, announced by Ubisoft in 2021. And the Nexus VR game will be announced soon. Then there are these four now-leaked projects, Nexus 2, Raid, Nebula and Echoes.

According to one source in the latest round of Assassin’s Creed leaks, Ubisoft is “going all in” on the franchise, as it does with other big franchises.

But it should also be made clear that these new Assassin’s Creed projects are only being referred to as “pitches”. Ubisoft is not necessarily committed in this direction, and the report itself may not be accurate at all. Still, given Ubisoft’s history of pushing annual AC releases and the success of that time, it wouldn’t be surprising if this happened again.
