Xbox Game Pass: Two New Games Debuted Yesterday, One Of Them Is A Day One Release!

Xbox Game Pass launches March 2023 with two new games, including a first-day release across PC, console and cloud services.

February has ended, and Xbox Game Pass has added Merge & Blade and Soul Hackers 2 to its extensive list of titles. They follow the release of Atomic Heart on the service. As well as other February games such as Cities: Skylines and Shadow Warrior 3.

Xbox Game Pass has received an unusually high number of announcements so far this year: in fact, fans have been enriched with twelve games as part of their subscription, and four more Xbox Game Pass games have been confirmed for March 2023.

Either way, Soul Hackers 2 and Merge & Blade joined the PC, console and cloud versions of Xbox Game Pass yesterday. Soul Hackers 2 is an RPG from Atlus, the famous developer of Persona 5 and other related franchises. Players take on the roles of Ringo and Figue, recruiting people from rival groups to prevent an impending apocalypse. On OpenCritic, Soul Hackers 2 has received a strong rating with a critical average of 75, and 64% of reviewers recommend the title.

Meanwhile, Merge & Blade is out on consoles on day one. It was previously available on PC but launches today for consoles, making it technically a one-day title. Merge & Blade is a fantasy puzzle game where players take on endless hordes of monsters. They aim to retake castles using the merge mechanic with a squad, autobattler gameplay and puzzle-solving. The game has just left early access on PC, so no critical reviews have been published yet, but Steam reviews are very positive.

Xbox Game Pass additions list:

  • 28 February – Merge & Blade – PC, console and cloud versions.
  • 28 February – Soul Hackers 2 – PC, console and Cloud
  • 2 March – F1 22 – PC and console
  • 3 March – Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty – PC, console and Cloud
  • 28 March – MLB The Show 23 – Console and Cloud
  • March – Way to the Woods – PC and console

Of course, if that wasn’t enough for subscribers, F1 22 arrives tomorrow and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty the day after that on Xbox Game Pass. There’s plenty of room for more games to be confirmed later this month. It’s worth noting that Way to the Woods doesn’t have a specific date yet, so that should be confirmed relatively soon, if not too late.
