Huge Announcement: The Last of Us Multiplayer Game Will Not Only Be Available on PS5!

A new job listing from Naughty Dog suggests that the The Last of Us multiplayer game will not only be available on PS5, but also on PS4 in the future. The Last of Us is one of the most popular video game franchises, which has gained even more popularity thanks to HBO’s hit series. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what the developer has in store for them in the game’s universe.

The Last of Us Part II was released on PS4 in 2020 and was a huge success among critics and players alike. The game originally included a multiplayer mode that would have been based on the Factions online game mode from the first part of The Last of Us, but it was ultimately left out of the final version. Naughty Dog later announced that it was working on a standalone multiplayer project set in the world of The Last of Us.

We don’t know much about this mysterious multiplayer game yet, but a recent job listing may be revealing. Naughty Dog is looking for an “Associate Multiplayer Quality Assurance Tester” on its website, one of whose requirements is to have a “working knowledge of PS4 and PS5 systems”. This could indicate that the multiplayer game will not only come to the new-generation console but also to the previous-generation PS4.

This would not be a surprising move by Naughty Dog, as the PS4 still has a huge user base and many people have not been able to switch to the PS5 due to the console shortage. Moreover, the multiplayer game was basically already done on PS4 as well, as it was originally supposed to be part of The Last of Us Part II. Of course, this does not mean that the game will not take advantage of the PS5’s extra capabilities.

Naughty Dog has not officially confirmed either this information or when the multiplayer game will be presented or released. However, hopefully we will soon learn more about this exciting project that will surely attract many fans.
