A Rare and Brutal Resident Evil 4 Game Controller Has Surfaced Online!

If you like horror games, you must be familiar with Resident Evil 4, one of the best episodes of the popular series. But did you know this game also has a special and brutal controller miming a chainsaw?

An avid Resident Evil 4 fan has found a rare collectible, namely a chainsaw controller that was originally released when the game was released. The fan shared the discovery on social media, where others praised the preservation of the rare item and its increase in value.

The reinterpretation of Resident Evil 4 was released on March 24th to great success. Although some content was omitted from the original game, the remake stayed true to the original game while modernizing the graphics and controls like other Resident Evil games released on the RE Engine. While the original Chainsaw controller isn’t compatible with the new release, one player has shared details about what it was like when it was still available.

A Reddit user rhunter1980 shared the discovery on the r/gaming subpage. In the picture, rhunter1980 wrote that he found the chainsaw controller of Resident Evil 4 on the occasion of the release of the remake. The controller was compatible with the Nintendo GameCube and was released in 2005 when Resident Evil 4 was released. The upper part of the light yellow controller houses the GameCube’s unique buttons and the start button, while the analog sticks, D-pad and L and R shift buttons are located out of sight. The Z button functioned as a left arm, and the right grip was covered in bloody paint. The saw part has no function during the gameplay, but standing out from the packaging, it refers to the chainsaw enemies of Resident Evil 4.

Rhunter1980’s post received over 12,000 upvotes on r/gaming in nine hours, with comments praising the discovery. The Reddit user said the controller was priced at $50 at the time, which is the most of his videos
