Shinji Mikami has Finished the Resident Evil 4 Remake and has Given his Honest Opinion on the Game!

The legendary game director, who also directed the original Resident Evil 4, shared his opinion on Capcom’s fresh Resident Evil 4 Remake on Twitter.

Resident Evil 4 is one of the most popular and influential horror games released in 2005 for the GameCube and PlayStation 2. The game was directed by Shinji Mikami, who is the father of the Resident Evil series. Mikami has since left Capcom and founded his own studio Tango Gameworks, whose latest creation will be Ghostwire: Tokyo.

Capcom announced this April that they are working on a revamped version of Resident Evil 4, which takes advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S hardware capabilities and modernizes the gameplay and the story. The remake was released on April 15 and was a great success among critics and fans.

Mikami recently finished the Resident Evil 4 remake and shared his thoughts on Twitter. The famous game director tweeted a photo of one of the last scenes, with the caption: “RE4 cleared successfully. I enjoyed it very much.”

Mikami isn’t the only one who enjoyed the new version of Resident Evil 4. The game was praised for its visuals, advanced gameplay, and emphasis on horror and action. “Resident Evil 4 Remake is therefore not a simple renovation, but a completely new experience. An experience that divides the audience and is sure to leave no one cold.” – wrote BadSector in the game review.

The Resident Evil 4 remake differs from the original not only in terms of graphics and gameplay, but also in terms of history. The remake introduces several new characters and locations, and delves deeper into the relationship between Leon S. Kennedy and Ashley Graham. The game also features familiar faces such as Ada Wong or Jack Krauser, but new characters also appear, such as Luis Sera’s brother or Ramon Salazar’s nephew.

The new version of Resident Evil 4 is not just a simple adaptation, but also an independent work of art, which pays respect to the original game, but also offers new experiences to fans. Shinji Mikami also seems satisfied with the reimagining, which proves that the Resident Evil 4 remake is a worthy continuation of the series.
