Reacher: Unexpected Change! Terminator 2’s Former Star to Play an Old Character in Season 2!

MOVIE NEWS – Reacher Season 2 recasts Rory Cochrane’s upcoming new recurring character, Shane Langston, with Terminator 2: Judgment Day star Robert Patrick, as the actor faces scheduling conflicts.

Reacher, based on Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels, premiered on Prime Video in February 2022. The series follows Alan Ritchson as a former U.S. Army military policeman, accused of murder and arrested, before uncovering a conspiracy in the rural Georgia town of Margrave. Reacher also stars Malcolm Goodwin, Willa Fitzgerald, Chris Webster, Bruce McGill, and Maria Sten.

According to Deadline, Terminator 2: Judgment Day star Robert Patrick has joined the cast of Reacher season 2. He will be replacing Rory Cochrane as the new recurring character Shane Langston, an ex-NYPD officer who now works security for a defense contractor. Cochrane dropped out of the series due to scheduling conflicts and had not yet shot any scenes for the new season, which is based on the 2007 Reacher novel, Bad Luck and Trouble.

What Has Robert Patrick Done Since T2? Robert Patrick has played many roles over his career, but Terminator 2 is one of his most iconic. He portrayed the liquid metal Terminator, known as the T-1000, sent from the future to destroy Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) and her young son John (Edward Furlong). In the three decades since the action epic first premiered, he has taken on many roles that prepared him for this new challenge.

Since T2, he has taken on roles in a wide variety of genres, including sci-fi horror (The Faculty), comedy (Community), and Western (the Yellowstone spinoff 1923). However, he has continued to work in the action genre as well. Between the early 1990s and now, he has honed his craft in titles such as Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, The Unit, and Safe House.

The star hasn’t given up on the genre in recent years either. He has already showcased his talents in the recent action series Peacemaker on HBO Max and The Night Agent on Netflix. Now that he’s found a home at Prime Video, Patrick’s considerable screen presence will make him a similarly invaluable part of the Reacher cast.
