Starfield Preorders Are Being Cancelled: What’s Going On With Bethesda’s New Sci-Fi Game?

Starfield is one of the most anticipated games from Bethesda, set to release on November 11, 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X/S. The sci-fi RPG is seen by many as the space equivalent of the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, and the developers have revealed a lot of exciting details about it. However, not all fans are happy, as some of them reported that their preorders were cancelled by the Microsoft Store, without any explanation.

The issue was first reported by Reddit users, who said that they received an email from Microsoft, informing them that their preorder was cancelled. The email did not include any reason or apology, just a link to reorder the game. The users said that this was very strange and worrying, as they did not know why this happened, and if they would get back the original discounted price or the preorder bonuses.

The Microsoft Store page also shows that the Starfield preorder is currently unavailable, and you can only request a notification when it becomes available again. The official website of the game, however, still allows you to preorder the game, but only at full price. Bethesda and Microsoft have not responded to the situation yet, so it is unclear what is behind it.

The Starfield preorders have suggested several possible reasons for why this happened. Some think that it might be because the original price was wrong in the Microsoft Store, and they had to cancel the preorders. Others suspect that there might be some legal issue with the game’s title or content. A third theory is that simply too many people preordered the game, and Microsoft cannot guarantee the supply.

Whatever the truth is, we hope that it will be clarified soon, and that the Starfield preorders will get back what they were promised. The game looks promising, and many are eager to explore the huge galaxy, where a lot of planets, races and factions await them. Starfield will be a single-player game, where you can build and customize your own spaceship, and influence the story with your decisions.
