Xbox Game Pass: The First August 2023 Update

This time we can say that Microsoft has gone on a symbolic holiday, because the first update of the month is not a hefty one.

The announcement from the Redmond company says that Celeste (console = Xbox series, Xbox One; PC, cloud) is now available. Soon to follow is A Short Hike (console, PC, cloud) on August 3, Broforce Forever (console, PC, cloud) on August 8, Limbo (console, PC, cloud) on August 9, Airborne Kingdom (console, PC, cloud) on August 10, and Everspace 2 (Xbox Series, cloud), which is already available on PC, on August 15. We weren’t kidding when we said it was a short list, as there will be no expansions for a few days. And as a reminder, FIFA 23 (cloud) is the only title Microsoft has brought up. You can get it as part of EA Play with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

We don’t have a long list of DLCs and game updates due to only one title. The 14th update for Microsoft Flight Simulator added Hungary to the list of flyable countries, along with the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. More Xbox Game Pass Ultimate perks have been added, with the PUBG 2023 Summer Pack now available in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and the House Baerne Coupon Choice Bank now available in Neverwinter. Phantasy Star Online has added 2 New Genesis, 50 Photon Chunks, and 6 N-Half Scape Dolls.

Three Xbox Game Pass Quests. In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can earn 250 points for five multiplayer kills, everyone else gets 5 points for playing with Tunic, and 50 points per day for completing an achievement in any Game Pass game. Finally, the list of departing games is also worth mentioning. Luckily for us, the list of games departing on August 15th isn’t that long: Death Stranding (PC), Edge of Eternity (console, PC, cloud), Midnight Fight Express (console, PC, cloud), and Total War: Warhammer III (PC).
