Rockstar Games Publisher Has Confirmed Red Dead Redemption 3!

Keep your Colts ready, because Red Dead Redemption 3 is really coming! Of course, you have to wait a while…

The series started in 2004 with the lesser-known Red Dead Revolver, but it was 2010’s Red Dead Redemption that really brought it legendary fame. And the 2018 sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2, was literally amazing. To be honest, we are still under its influence.

Considering that eight years have passed between the two previous parts, and that Rockstar is currently working on the development of GTA VI, do not expect the third part to be released anytime soon. Moreover, it would be surprising if it were to hit the stores within the current console generation.

But finally there is an official announcement: the game is indeed in the works. At last year’s Jefferies Virtual Global Interactive Entertainment Conference, Zelnick, the company’s head, compared the Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto series to the James Bond franchise. He said these series will stay with us until either the universe is destroyed or the series is no longer profitable, whichever comes first.

“‘If something’s really great, it gets a sequel,’ said the CEO. ‘I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but I just saw the new Bond movie and it was amazing. Every franchise should be like James Bond. There are very few entertainment franchises of this caliber, but there are. I think GTA, Red Dead, and of course the NBA fall into that category, because those games will always exist.'”

Of course, Zelnick also emphasized that patience will be required. Nobody thinks that GTA VI and Red Dead Redemption 3 will be released at the same time or in the same decade.

“It’s important to be thoughtful and deliberate with these titles and let them rest so that people feel, ‘This is really something special,'” Zelnick explained. “I’ve always been of the opinion that if a new part of a non-sports game comes out every year, it will exhaust and burn out that brand in the long run, even if the given game itself is excellent. That’s why we give it time to to create something really compelling and intentionally let the titles that have a lot of interest rest so that they become real events.”
