Four Modern Games Will Run Natively On iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max!

No, we’re not talking about games running from the cloud: all games will run locally on Apple’s new devices!

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake and Resident Evil: Village will be released for the iPhone 15 Pro later this year; Kojima Productions has confirmed that Death Stranding: Director’s Cut will also be released for the Cupertino-based company’s two most potent phones (Pro, Pro Max) later in 2023, and Ubisoft has come up with something more surprising than these announcements: they’re not bringing a game they’ve already released to Apple A17 Pro-chipped devices, but one that hasn’t even been released yet: they’re making Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, although they’re not releasing the port in 2023…

Let’s look at the press release about the A17 Pro chip: “Bringing pro performance and capabilities, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are powered by A17 Pro, the industry’s first 3-nanometer chip. Continuing Apple’s leadership in smartphone silicon, the A17 Pro improves the entire chip, including the most significant GPU redesign in Apple’s history. The new CPU is up to 10 percent faster with microarchitectural and design improvements, and the Neural Engine is now up to 2x faster, powering features like autocorrect and Personal Voice in iOS 17.

The pro-class GPU is up to 20 percent faster and unlocks new experiences, featuring a new 6-core design that increases peak performance and energy efficiency. Now, with hardware-accelerated ray tracing—4x faster than software-based ray tracing—the iPhone 15 Pro offers smoother graphics and more immersive AR applications and gaming experiences. iPhone 15 Pro brings true-to-life gaming to the palm of users’ hands with console titles never before seen on a smartphone,” Apple wrote.

We’ll be curious how they port these four games to these phones. If it’s not a heavily dumbed-down experience, we’ll give a nod of approval, but we’re dubious about the controls… although the presentation sneakily featured the DualSense controller. Clever…

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
