Xbox Game Pass: Unexpected Delay! A Highly Anticipated Game Set for October 2023 Faces a Setback!

One of the most anticipated games scheduled for an October 2023 debut on the Xbox Game Pass, Cities: Skylines 2, will be experiencing a significant delay in its release.

Subscribers to Xbox Game Pass will unfortunately have to hear that the Cities: Skylines 2’s launch for the Xbox Series X has been postponed from its originally slated October 24th date to Spring 2024. Recently, Xbox Game Pass has been on a roll, showcasing massive titles like Bethesda’s open-world sci-fi RPG, Starfield, and the critically acclaimed Souls-like game, Lies of P.

The service’s momentum remains unbroken up until October 2023. The current monthly lineup boasts renowned titles such as Forza Motorsport, the XCOM-inspired Lamplighters League, and the console version of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. While PC Game Pass subscribers have had access to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide for a while, console gamers have been put on a longer waiting list, similarly to Cities: Skylines 2.

While PC subscribers can access Cities: Skylines 2 on October 24th, console gamers will have to wait until Spring 2024. The delay ensures developers can provide the highest quality experience for the console version. This setback also affects its PlayStation counterpart.

Though Xbox Game Pass subscribers might be feeling a sting from the delay of Cities: Skylines 2, they can still look forward to a plethora of exciting games in October. In addition to Forza Motorsport, The Lamplighters League, and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, titles like Gotham Knights, Mineko’s Night Market, Headbangers: Rhythm Royale, and Jusant will be available.

More titles are expected to drop into the Xbox Game Pass library in October, with a complete list available soon. It’s worth noting that some games will also be leaving the service, so keeping an eye on those updates is crucial.

Despite a few setbacks, it’s an exhilarating time for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. With a host of new games on the horizon, the imminent conclusion of the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard acquisition deal promises an influx of iconic titles, including previous iterations of Call of Duty.
