Assassin’s Creed Mirage is officially Ubisoft’s latest hit, as the company has revealed that the title sold very well after its release.
According to its publisher, Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed Mirage has succeeded greatly. The title’s shorter storyline and stealth-focused gameplay appealed to some critics, as AC Mirage received positive reviews. Now, it seems that the game is also doing well in terms of sales.
With an atmosphere reminiscent of the first Assassin’s Creed and a more assassination-focused game that lacks more RPG elements, it has gained enough traction to become a big hit.
Ubisoft has revealed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage has been a huge financial success for the company. According to the publisher, the game is Ubisoft’s biggest hit in terms of sales. At least if we consider only the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The company also revealed some interesting numbers about the game’s first week during the announcement. For example, players have spent 479 collective years so far parkouring on the rooftops of the game’s city. They’ve made 60 million jumps and petted street cats 1.2 million times.
Given the game’s success, it was expected that Ubisoft would want to cash in with more DLC. However, at the moment, despite some minor DLC being available, no major expansion for Mirage is expected. What is coming soon is an iPhone 15 Pro port of the game. This port marks the first time a significant episode in the series has been ported to mobile. If it follows the current trend, it will likely continue to sell well on this new platform.
Ubisoft is also working on several other Assassin’s Creed-related projects. In addition to the mysterious Assassin’s Creed Infinity, which will be a hub where players will have access to the various titles in the franchise, there are four other projects in development. They are Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR, AC Red, AC Hexe and AC Jade. Nexus VR will be the first time the famous franchise enters the VR space. Red and Jade are the project code names, featuring new stories set in Japan and China, respectively. The most mysterious of these projects is Assassin’s Creed Hexe. There is not much information on the latter at the moment, but theories suggest that it will focus on witches and take place in Europe.
Lame character models in Assassin’s Creed Mirage?!
A recent Reddit post has sparked an exciting conversation among AC fans. Many people criticized the character models in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Some players went so far as to say that the character models were strikingly similar to those of previous franchise editions. In fact, they even resemble the 2009 video games. The Reddit thread is currently at over 22,000 upvotes, quickly becoming a hot topic among the gaming community.
In addition to the character models, Mirage’s animations have also been the subject of criticism, with many players pointing out that the not-so-smooth animations have been detrimental to their immersion, breaking the illusion that they are in 9th-century Baghdad.
There is a recurring feeling that some of the aforementioned problems stem from Ubisoft’s recycling of assets in many of its titles. Despite this, not all Redditors take such a hard stance against Mirage. Quite a few users justify its shortcomings with the lower development budget and the lower starting price.
Many Redditors took a lighter approach to the debate. They playfully noted that Mirage seems to deliver exactly what they were hoping for from a game rooted in the style of older Assassin’s Creed titles. Including the flawed character models. All joking aside, the success of Mirage will likely set the direction for Ubisoft’s gameplay in future titles in the series. After Assassin’s Creed Red, of course, which returns to the RPG formula found in Valhalla, Odyssey and Origins.

Why do Ubisoft character models still look like they’re from 2009?
