Devil May Cry Anime: Special Video Before the Series Premiere, with a Retro-Gamer Feel! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – The executive producer of the upcoming animated series of “Devil May Cry” assures fans that the wait will be worth it.

The anime adaptation of the popular “Devil May Cry” video game franchise, which will debut on Netflix in the near future, is already getting audiences excited. Last week, the production company released a special behind-the-scenes video to appease the patience of those waiting for the series. Not only does the video reveal new details, but it also reassures fans who have been waiting patiently, or not so patiently, that the anime’s arrival is only a matter of time.

Netflix released the video on its official YouTube channel last Saturday, and it has already garnered more than 171 000 views, indicating the high interest in the project. The first trailer for the “Devil May Cry” animated series was released in September, but a full release date for the series is not yet known. The scripts are said to be ready for November 2021, and the first season of 8 episodes will focus on the adventures of Dante, Vergil and Lady.

The new behind-the-scenes video includes new animated scenes that were not included in the September trailer, indicating that a lot of work has been done on the animation in recent months. The video also features a short interview with showrunner and executive producer Adi Shankar. In the video, Shankar apologises to fans for the project’s delays and explains why it is taking so long to complete. In the video, Shankar also shows his love for the series by adding cosplay fun to the show.

Devil May Cry is an action-adventure video game series created by Hideki Kamiya and published by CAPCOM. Several games in the series have been released since 2001, with the latest, “Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition”, being released in 2020. The stories are centred around Dante the demon hunter, and the narratives are based on Dante Alighieri’s “Divine Comedy”. Each game tells a new story, some of them a continuation of the previous episodes, while others introduce new stories.

Interestingly, although “Devil May Cry” is originally a Japanese series, the new anime project is not being made in Japan. The series is produced by Adi Shankar and Alex Larsen and animated by South Korean Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf). Although the series is in the style of Japanese anime, it is not actually a Japanese production. Netflix’s new series should not be confused with the 2007 Japanese anime Devil May Cry, published by Madhouse.

The fact that the series is not produced by a Japanese studio does not mean that the new adaptation of Devil May Cry will not be successful. Adi Shankar, who is the mastermind behind Netflix’s hugely successful anime series Castlevania, is again aiming for similar success. Castlevania” was also based on a Japanese video game series and was animated in Japanese anime style by a non-Japanese team. Shankar has already announced that “Devil May Cry” will have several seasons and will be another piece of the “boot multiverse” alongside “Castlevania”.
