We’ll Show You: This Is How Much More Spectacular GTA VI Is Than The Fifth Episode! [VIDEO]

A newly surfaced fan video highlights the enormous graphical improvements between GTA V and the GTA VI reveal trailers…

Recently, a video appeared in which we can see Grand Theft Auto VI and GTA V reveal trailers playing side by side. The footage highlights some of Rockstar’s huge graphical improvements over the past 12 years. The fan-made clip also serves as circumstantial evidence that the first GTA VI trailer doesn’t look “too good to be true”, as some fans feared.

To say that the long-awaited reveal of the next mainline instalment in the Grand Theft Auto series took the internet by storm would be an understatement.

Since its early premiere on December 4, the video has been viewed over 141 million times on YouTube alone. Countless fans scrutinized every single frame. It also sparked a lot of analysis, some of which compared the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer to real-life locations in Miami. Others drew parallels between the video and Rockstar’s previous promotions.

The latest example of the latter comes from Reddit user Sebastian4002. He recently put together a video showing trailers for the upcoming GTA game and its predecessor side by side. While many fans would agree that GTA V still looks pretty good for a ten-year-old game, the 89-second clip is an excellent example of the vast graphical improvements the successor boasts. Among other things, much more detailed textures. Also, the significantly increased mass density and the visibly better rendering distance. The more realistic lighting effects and improved animations are also clearly visible when watching the Grand Theft Auto VI reveal simultaneously with GTA V.

The GTA VI trailer probably doesn’t promise too much about what the game will look like

The video also reminisces a beloved Rockstar Games tradition that the GTA VI trailer will hopefully uphold. While the reveal of GTA V was breathtaking at the time, it ultimately didn’t promise much about what the game would look like. On the contrary, it was eventually revealed that Rockstar had compiled all of GTA V’s promotional clips from in-game footage. If anything, the final product actually looked even better than the teasers suggested.

As GTA V was hardly the first game in the series to receive such an honest marketing treatment, the sequel looks set to continue that tradition.

Fans worried that the trailer for the sixth instalment looks too good to be true will have to trust Rockstar.

Overall, the first trailer for the game is quite favourable compared to Rockstar’s previous presentations. Both in terms of content quality and quantity. However, since the game itself isn’t scheduled to launch until 2025, it may be a while before Rockstar is ready to share another look at it.
