Warcraft 2 Gets A Fan Remake! [VIDEO]

The only problem is that it requires another Blizzard game that wasn’t a big hit when it was released…

LoreCraft Designs did the remake after the first few missions of the second part were released in Warcraft III: Reforged in 2020. More than three years later, however, half of the game was remade. The unique campaign was called Chronicles of the Second War, and Tides of Darkness became the first in the series. Warcraft II was released in 1995, and its orc campaign can be played in the Reforged engine. There are seventeen missions with voice acting, so if you’re a fan of the original Warcraft RTS, you won’t be disappointed.

Soundtrack? There is one. Bossfights? They’re there. Even the oil resource system has been lifted from the original, along with the lore, cutscenes, and naval battles. So LoreCraft Designs has tried to include just about everything. Heroes and characters are introduced to players in gameplay and cameos. For the soundtrack, they didn’t just copy songs from the original game, they recreated them, while the voice acting has over 1500 lines of everything from unit commentary to text used in scenes.

Yeah, but what about the other half of the game? Warcraft II had a human campaign. LoreCraft Designs hasn’t given any details about it, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they do it later, but we’d better be patient with them, because if the orc campaign took three years, they won’t be able to do it in months (or if they could, the quality would be low…). Anyway, the orc campaign for Warcraft III: Reforged can be downloaded. The developers were so serious about the fan remake that they even made a special video for the release of the Orc campaign.

Admittedly, this won’t be enough to make Warcraft III: Reforged a much bigger success (especially after the forced retirement of the original version…).
