Nvidia Recommends The 6 GB GeForce RTX 3050 For 1080p Gaming

TECH NEWS – And it doesn’t even need a separate power connector, so the low-cost graphics card (this isn’t an RTX 4050, which is available in laptops) can be used in more PCs.

Ampere architecture, 6GB of VRAM, for $169. The goal is clear: Nvidia wants to appeal to those who still use a GTX 1650 or GTX 1050 in their PCs. These cards are still listed in the Steam hardware survey, so they are popular cards, but they are getting old. With the redesigned RTX 3050, Nvidia is expanding ray tracing and AI computing.

Here’s how the company described the old-new RTX 3050 to WCCFTech: “The RTX 3050 6GB is a great upgrade for GeForce GTX 1650 and GTX 1050 users who want to experience RTX. The RTX 3050 6GB is up to 4x faster than its predecessors at the same power consumption and also supports DLSS Super Resolution for superior performance and image quality. It can be powered exclusively from the PCI-E slot, eliminating the need for a power supply upgrade, and fits into even smaller systems, making it an instant plug-and-play upgrade. The GeForce RTX 3050 6GB is available today from our partners ASUS, Colorful, Gainward, GALAX, GIGABYTE, INNO3D, KFA2, MSI, Palit, PNY, and ZOTAC. Please contact our AIC partners for specific model prices and specifications.

The 8GB older RTX 3050 on Newegg is $250-280, so $100 more than the model with less VRAM (quick specs: 2304 CUDA cores, 1470 MHz clock, 6GB VRAM, 96-bit bus, GA107-325-Kx SKU, PG173 SKU16 PCB), which has fewer cores and a lower clock speed than the original (-10, -17%). However, in this price range, the Intel Arc A580 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 (for $180/200) can be a good alternative.

However, it would still be important to have 8 GB of VRAM on the card, as this will soon be the minimum.
