Nintendo has put the spotlight on five big upcoming Nintendo Switch games, all of which have a good chance of being released in 2024.
Nintendo’s latest financial report highlights the biggest upcoming Switch-exclusive games. These have been announced for 2024 and beyond. Since the release of the Nintendo Switch in 2017, the company has ensured that games for the home console/handheld hybrid device are constantly being released. These games ranged from brand-new titles to remakes and remasters of classic Nintendo games to enhanced ports for the Wii U.
There have been persistent rumors that Nintendo is preparing to retire the Switch and focus on the successor console, whatever its form.
Official details on the Switch 2 are still lacking. But it looks like Nintendo is ending its focus on the original console. The latest sign of this is the company’s latest financial report, which highlights some upcoming Switch games.
Upcoming Switch-exclusive games highlighted by Nintendo include Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Princess Peach: Showtime, which is currently scheduled for March 22. Nintendo also announced Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD for Summer 2024, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for an unspecified 2024 date, and Metroid Prime 4, which still doesn’t have a release date.
Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games:
- Mario vs. Donkey Kong – February 16
- Princess Peach: Showtime – March 22
- Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – Summer 2024
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door – 2024
- Metroid Prime 4 – TBA
Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remake still don’t have a release date. Fans are expecting a Nintendo Direct presentation sometime in the near future. Nintendo Direct events are traditionally held in February. It would make sense if Nintendo held the event to inform fans about upcoming games.
Of course, many people also wonder when Nintendo will present the Switch 2 console. It’s possible that if the rumoured February 2024 Nintendo Direct takes place, Nintendo will use it to unveil the Switch 2 console. But the more likely scenario is that the system will be disclosed as part of some dedicated launch event. Whatever the case may be, it looks like the Switch is slowly leaving its glory days behind. Nintendo looks to the future. That said, there are still some major exclusives that haven’t made it to the Switch yet. So fans will have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
