PlayStation Plus: New Extra Games And A Premium Classic Coming Next Week!

PS5 PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers can expect nine new games on Tuesday, February 20. The Plus Premium level will also include a classic PSP game among the novelties of February 2024…

Sony has officially revealed the nine games coming to the Extra level of its PlayStation Plus subscription service on Tuesday, February 20. PS Plus is divided into several levels; the Extra level gives subscribers access to alternating PS4 and PS5 games in addition to the free monthly games. In February 2024, free PS Plus games will be available for subscribers to add to their digital libraries.

Free PS Plus games for February 2024 include Square Enix’s day one Foamstars, the well-received shooter Rollerdrome, and Souls’ action RPG Steelrising, the latter of which is only available to PS5 players.

According to Sony’s announcement, the new PS Plus Extra games coming in February 2024 are: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Worlds, Need for Speed Unbound, Roguebook, Rogue Lords, Tales of Arise, Tales of Zestiria and The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition. Of these, Need for Speed Unbound and The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition can only be played on PS5. The rest can all be played on PS4 and PS5. Valhalla, Roguebook and Tales of Arise await fans with a native PS5 option. All nine games will be playable via PS Plus Extra starting February 20.

List of PS Plus Extra games for February 2024:

  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (PS4/PS5)
  • LEGO Jurassic World (PS4)
  • LEGO Worlds (PS4)
  • Need for Speed Unbound (PS5)
  • Roguebook (PS4/PS5)
  • Rogue Lords (PS4)
  • Tales of Arise (PS4/PS5)
  • Tales of Zestiria (PS4)
  • The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition (PS5)

As usual, the new PS Plus Extra games for February 2024 include several big guns. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is a massive open-world game that is more than budget-friendly for subscribers. While Tales of Arise is one of the highest-rated RPGs of the last five years. The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition is a fascinating inclusion, as Xbox-owned studio Obsidian Entertainment developed it.

A PSP classic is coming to PlayStation Plus Premium

Sony also announced that new games will be added to the Premium tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service on February 20. Among them, the classic PSP game Resistance: Retribution will be the leading title. One of the main attractions of the PS Plus Premium tier is the ability to play classic games from previous PlayStation consoles. Games initially released for PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSP are easily accessible to subscribers.

Of the PlayStation systems represented by PS Plus Premium, the PSP is, unfortunately, the one that usually draws the shortest stick.

But now Resistance: Retribution tops the list regarding new PS Plus Premium games coming to the service on February 20, 2024. Joining this is Jet Moto 2, the PS1 racing game initially released in 1997 to mixed reviews. Also, Tales of Symphonia Remastered and Tales of Vesperia. All four games will be readily available to PS4 and PS5 players with a PS Plus Premium subscription.

With Resistance: Retribution, subscribers can look forward to some improvements that will make the experience even better than it was back then on the PSP. The game features improved visuals on PS Plus Premium, rewind, quick save and custom video filters. Thus, users can adapt the experience to their own needs. Whether Resistance: Retribution will include unlockable PlayStation trophies has not yet been announced. Fans will find out when the game launches on February 20.
