Silent Hill 2 Remake: The President Of Bloober Team Criticizes Konami!

Either friction has developed between the Polish studio and the Japanese publisher, or the critical gentleman will soon lose his job…

It was unusual for Konami to outsource the development of the remake of perhaps the most iconic part of Silent Hill to Bloober Team (Observer, Blair Witch, The Medium…) instead of working on it in-house, and one might think that both parties are on good terms. However, the opposite seems to be true, as a video of Bloober Team’s game shown at State of Play has upset the boss of the Polish developer.

The video can also be criticized for focusing too much on the action and not enough on the world of Silent Hill 2, which has a certain atmosphere that needs to be experienced. In short, it is possible to present a good game badly, and this is what Konami did, because the video was edited by the Japanese company! Eurogamer Poland wrote down what Piotr Babieno, president of the Bloober team, said in an interview with the inwestorzy.tv YouTube channel.

“Seriously, we are not responsible for the marketing side. Our partner [Konami] is completely responsible for that. This trailer certainly does not reflect the spirit of the game. This is not the spirit of what was, nor is it the spirit of what we are creating now. We are trying to fully reflect this ideal vision of the game that debuted 22 years ago. We believe that when players see real gameplay, a real game, they will evaluate it in a completely different way,” said Babieno, who added that there is no need to worry about visual details because the remake will use all the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5.

So the relationship between Bloober Team and Konami is not that good. The Japanese could have at least asked what the Poles would have seen in the video, because it would have been a good solution for both parties. Anyway, Silent Hill 2 Remake still has no official release date, but it will probably be released this year for PlayStation 5 and PC.
