Kung Fu Panda 4 maintains its first place, and the sequel is already being predicted

MOVIE NEWS – There will probably be a Kung Fu Panda 5 too, because the recently launched overseas Kung Fu Panda 4 is doing better than expected. The animated family film leads the cinema charts in North America for the second week and has already brought in 107.7 million dollars in two weeks, bringing the total income of the panda franchise close to 2 billion dollars.

It follows from the logic of things that the Universal studio is already planning the next part. Although it has not yet been confirmed that there will be a Kung Fu Panda 5, director Mike Mitchell has revealed that if he were approached with such a request, he has an idea of what the sequel could be about. Mitchell’s imagination was sparked after seeing a scene from Kung Fu Panda 3, which he executive produced.

“It’s a really weird fan idea,” the director told The Direct. – There was a joke in episode three where Po looks up at the wall and sees Master Delfin’s armor and says, oh my god, that’s Master Delfin’s armor. Then it was as if lightning struck me, because I thought: what if Po were to go on underwater adventures next?

The director explained that he would like to see more aquatic animals if the series were to continue. “I’ve been wondering lately if there is an ocean whose inhabitants practice kung fu. However, an ocean-based Kung Fu Panda would be much more expensive than previous installments, so that still needs to be worked on.”

However, Mitchell does not only think in terms of water, he thinks there should be more insects next time. “So far we have a piece of praying mantis, right (The Mantis is voiced by comedian Seth Rogen in the American original – ed.) while the world is full of insects and bugs. So we can continue on this line as well. I see that there is potential in this story, just as in Deadly Pace, it did not stop at four parts, but continues as long as the fans demand more and more sequels.”
