What Is Sam Lake And Kojima Hideo Working On Together? [VIDEO]

The creative director of Remedy Entertainment and the head of Kojima Productions are working on something together, as the Finnish and Japanese geniuses have been mentioned in several tweets… but what will come out of their collaboration?

Remedy Entertainment is working on several games at the same time, including DLC for Alan Wake 2, while Kojima Productions is working on Death Stranding 2 for PlayStation 5 and OD for Xbox, so the Japanese studio is playing both sides of the fence. The Finns, on the other hand, are taking a multiplatform approach; on PC, there’s the Epic Games Store exclusivity in play, but that’s because Epic Games funded the development of Alan Wake 2…).

The collaboration between Lake and Kojima began earlier. The Finnish developer (who was also the face of Max Payne) had a cameo role in Death Stranding, alongside Daichi Miura (Japanese musician) and Geoff Keighley (organizer of Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards). Now Lake is going to be the face of something again, and they both posted about it on Twitter. Lake also posted a video of TikTok having a cup of coffee, which was digitized by the Kojima Productions team. The Finnish developer praised Kojima’s hardware and was honored by the visit.

If you think about it, not only are Death Stranding 2 and OD coming (the former in 2025), but there’s a third project in the works at Kojima Productions. There’s also Physint, which will be PlayStation exclusive, and you could call it a non-Metal Gear Solid, as its style and tone mimics what we’ve come to expect from Konami’s IP. Kojima left the Japanese publisher in 2015, leaving Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain unfinished and Silent Hills (which he worked on with Norman Reedus and Guillermo del Toro) canceled.

Hopefully we’ll hear more about what Lake and Kojima’s collaboration will look like (again).
