Helldivers 2: the Director Does His Best to Make it Even Better [VIDEO]

Though he set the bar a bit high, there’s nothing stopping Arrowhead from doing just that with Helldivers 2, and with a game that the public loves, they could set a new standard for the genre and the model it uses.

The game’s director and founder of Arrowhead, Johan Pilestedt, has posted several comments on Reddit that indicate that the goal for them now is to create the best live service title: “We’re tweaking our processes and hiring developers to grow the team. But 100 is still a decent size for a development team, and we are aware of the problems in the releases – we will do better in the future.

We want to deliver the best in the industry, and we calibrate our efforts between fixing things and building new things. It’s easy to say “just fix, don’t add,” but the reality of competition in this industry is that we have to do both to stay relevant. We figure it out. The demands and expectations on the studio are high, all eyes are on us, and we have one goal – to make this the best live game you’ve ever played. We just need to find our stride and our balance. It’s a hot topic in the studio, and I’m sorry for the sloppy mistakes we’ve made lately,” Pilestedt wrote.

The attention on Helldivers 2 is no coincidence, as Arrowhead’s game has outsold Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the UK, and the team is responding to the high interest by expanding and ensuring a quality experience for players in the long run, who in recent days have been able to purchase the local equivalent of the Battle Pass, a new Premium Warbond (Democratic Detonation) for 1,000 Super Credits.

This adds several weapons (BR-14 Adjudicator Assault Rifle, R-36 Eruptor Bolt Action Rifle, CB-9 Exploding Crossbow, G-123 Thermite Grenade, GP-31 Grenade Pistol), but also three armor types (CE-07 Demolition Specialist, CE-27 Ground Breaker, and FS-55 Devastator – light, medium, heavy armor).
