Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Is A Total Failure – Will It Ever Get Back On Its Feet?!

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has lost 99% of its players in less than three months and has just hit an all-time low on Steam…

It is designed to be a live service game that can live for ten years. But unfortunately, the story of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League seems to be coming to an end less than three months after its release. The game has hit rock bottom if Steam’s trackers are anything to go by. In the last few hours, it reached the lowest number of simultaneous users of all time. On the afternoon of Thursday, April 25, only 92 people played the game.

This still needs to factor in console players, but it sure looks like that number is still not what we’d expect from a multi-million-dollar game.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Status ‘Critical’

It is pretty normal for games to lose users over time after their release. The main purpose of selling as a “service” (live service) is to avoid this phenomenon. Such titles are built to keep users engaged for months or years. So, they continue to play daily and interact with monetization systems every few months. It would be dramatic if a game offered as a service lost 99% of its users in one year.

However, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s lifespan didn’t even last a quarter. During this time, there was also a first major update aimed at “reviving” interest in the title. In that sense, they seem to have no tricks up their sleeve. The numbers registered by KtJL are much worse than those of Marvel’s Avengers.

Moreover, as pointed out by the media called Windows Central, which noticed this historical low point for Rocksteady’s game thanks to SteamDB data, there was a period in recent days when the already mentioned Marvel’s Avengers (which has not been supported since September 30, 2023 ) could have several simultaneous players.

The situation is dramatic, and there seems to be no turning back. Despite this, the developers are still talking about adding new content to the game in the future.

Although many fans frowned when they heard that Rocksteady would be working on a game as a service, it was hard to expect such a failure. Disappointment also comes with a hard-to-digest thought: the missed opportunity. With the release of Suicide Squad, we didn’t get the IP game we deserved and we didn’t get a Rocksteady title we’ve been waiting for.
