A Funny Skyrim Mod by a Twitch Streamer, Instantly Regrets it! [VIDEO]

A mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim uses artificial intelligence to create an unexpectedly hilarious result, but the Twitch user who posted it has apologized.

The streamer, who goes by the name Blurbs, has linked a mod for Skyrim that can be controlled by chatters. Admitting on Twitter that he’d never done anything like this before, he entered the modding universe by allowing chatters to voice non-playable characters (NPCs), and the result is hilarious: the first five lines you hear from them on the way to Riverwood go something like this:

“You smell like bad cheese … I think it’s your feet”; “What are you talking about, Willis?”; the entire “tragedy of Darth Plaugeis the wise” speech from Star Wars, which leads Blurbs to kill said NPC, throw him in the river, and temporarily ban his creator; “So no bazookas for us? […] Oh, no. Please don’t drown me.” (only to be drowned); “I will follow you and watch you and worship the ground you walk on”.

The mod is simple: subscribers or VIP members of Blurbs can create a 300-character message on his Twitch channel, specify gender and tone, and then hit enter. This has produced some pretty messy results, as you can see in the videos embedded below. Still, the live dialog option shows a lot of confidence (perhaps too much) in the viewer. But Blurbs told Kotaku that he doesn’t see much chance of the mod being made available on Nexus Modson anytime soon.

He says it’s not a normal program, but several programs running at the same time, and he doubts he can release it as a single package, but he promised to show how he did it on his YouTube channel. In any case, with the right users, it could be a pretty funny result. The idea is good, there’s no shortage of creativity, all that’s needed is for the public to see the ingenious TTS method.
